How can we help?

Where are WALKHERO shoes made?

WALKHERO shoes are designed in the USA and manufactured with our Asian partners.

Our partner factories adhere to our high standards to provide shoes with world-class comfort and support. Our shoes are manufactured with high-quality materials and in ethical conditions. Our trusted factory partners align with our company values, and together we focus on creating as much value as possible for our customers.

How do I know WALKHERO shoes won't disappoint?

We want you to find the right size and be entirely satisfied with your shoes, so we offer free shipping with free returns and exchanges! Go ahead and try them on and break them in because you have 180 days to exchange them for a different size or another style if necessary.

If you decide WALKHERO shoes aren’t right for you, you can also return like-new items for a full refund. See our Return Policy for more details.

How is the arch support of WALKHERO shoes?

WALKHERO shoes deliver excellent arch support without the need for thick inserts or expensive, custom orthotics.

Superior arch support starts with our patented Foot-Care™ technology, which delivers natural cushioning and dynamically hugs your heel with every step. Every foot is unique, and our built-in orthotic insoles adapt to fit your needs by being matched for your unique foot geometry for superior support with customized layers of cushioning and arch support.

For the greatest comfort, we recommend wearing your new WALKHERO footwear for just a few hours for the first few days to allow your feet to adjust to the new level of orthotic comfort and support. Within 1-2 weeks you should find the product completely comfortable and supportive.

What are WALKHERO insoles made of and how long will they last?

WALKHERO insoles are made of a flexible material called EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate).

The key advantage of EVA is that it is supportive and 'giving' at the same time! As you apply weight to the foot, there is a certain amount of 'give' in WALKHERO insoles and shoes, providing shock absorption to the feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back. This makes the device much more comfortable and more natural compared to hard insoles. Yet, at the same time, they are firm enough to realign the foot and allow you to claim back your natural footprint.

Because WALKHERO insoles and sandals are somewhat flexible, they will need to be replaced every 12-18 months. Older people or those with sensitive feet will benefit from a softer type of orthotic such as WALKHERO, as they may have difficulty tolerating anything hard under the foot.

Can I use custom orthotics with WALKHERO shoes?

Due to the anatomical shape of the Orthotic insoles, custom orthotics with a rounded heel fit best inside our shoes. If the underside of the custom orthotic (the part that sits on the footbed) is squared off, then it may not fit into our deep heel cup—which is rounded like your foot.

That said, many of our customers tell us the Foot-Care™ technology offers better support and stability than they expected, and that they don't need to wear their custom orthotics with WALKHERO shoes.

Do you sell replacement footbed, insoles or sockliners?

We are unable to fulfill any replacement footbed, insoles or sockliners requests at this time. But we have been selling the insoles that are designed for wider, high-volume shoes, such as work boots, basketball shoes, running shoes, casual shoes, dress shoes. If you need a pair, please check here:

Which stores carry WALKHERO shoes?

There are only a few stores that carry our shoes, however, you can order our shoes online risk-free because we offer free shipping, exchanges, and returns.

How do I clean my shoes or orthotics?

To clean our products, we recommend you wipe with a damp cloth and air dry under indirect sunlight.

We DO NOT recommend the following:

Submerging in water or using solvents to clean products.
Exposing products to extreme temperatures.
Commercial dry cleaning or home wash/dry laundry machines.

How do you recommend eliminating sandal odor?

Eliminate odor and effectively clean and deodorize footbeds by stopping cell growth and multiplication of bacteria and fungi which can cause odor and itchiness.

Preventative measures are best here. But in the event that you do find your sandals have taken on an odor, we recommend giving the footbeds a good scrub with a mild soap diluted in warm water. Be sure to let your shoes air dry naturally. Do not place them near a heat source or in direct sunlight.

How do I clean my WALKHERO compression socks?

To keep your socks looking and smelling fresh, machine wash on cold with like colors. Do not bleach, do not iron, and do not tumble dry.

How do I care for my WALKHERO Footwear made from canvas?

For canvas, we recommend gently brushing the shoe with a soft, damp sponge to remove loose dirt. Stains should be treated immediately with a gentle cleaner. Like wool, we do not recommend machine-washing.

WALKHERO offers 180-DAY free returns and exchanges on all orders within the Domestic United States, so finding the perfect fit should be as easy as possible!

We work very hard to keep our sizing consistent across our collection, and most of our styles fit true to size. If you are unsure about sizing for a specific style, we feature fit tips under the "sizing" tab on the individual product pages.

We hope these details help you find your perfect fit. If you still have questions, please contact our customer service for additional help, email us:

View our helpful Shoe Size Conversion Guide.

If I wear a half size in shoes, how should I size my WALKHERO shoes?

Our shoes and slippers are available in half size. Fit can be a bit difficult to determine, as it is usually your personal preference. In most cases, sizing up to the next size will offer the best fit.

For example, if you wear a 10.5 in shoes, a size 11 will likely fit you best in our sandals and slippers.

Please keep in mind if your feet are narrow or wide, this may affect the fit of our footwear.

Can you explain the 'CM' sizing Vs 'US&EUR' sizing when looking at the WALKHERO size chart?

'CM' is the size used in Japan. To measure your foot, you should measure in centimeters and refer to the heel-to-toe size in centimeters and cross reference your size for your region.

After you have measured your foot, here are some tips for finding the right fit:

- Your left and right feet may differ in length or width. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.

- If your feet seem between sizes, and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest choosing the larger size. You can adjust for a more personal fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.

Note: Because the foot is three-dimensional, any two-dimensional measuring tool, such as a ruler or Brannock device®, can only approximate your shoe size. Manufacturers use different lasts to construct their shoes, and sizing may vary accordingly.

Why does WALKHERO sizing differ from other brands' sizing?

There is no footwear industry standard for shoe size. At WALKHERO, we list shoe sizes in centimeters so you can easily compare sizing with other brands.

Where can I find the size guide chart for WALKHERO Footwear?

Our size chart is linked on every product page above the size list. You can also find it through the link below.

Which WALKHERO styles work best with my orthotics?

Many of our shoes feature removable insoles, which are ideal for orthotics. To check if a style has a removable insole check out the "features" section on any product page.

What makes WalkHero different from other brands?

The patented Foot-Care™ technology we build into every shoe we make is the foundation for pain-free and all-day comfort. Built-in orthopedic insoles blend premium EVA foam materials to give you cushioning and support in all the right places.

Anti-Microbial Technology is embedded in WALKHERO footwear, it's easy to maintain a clean and healthy environment for your feet. Insoles help prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi and help keep your feet odor free.

WALKHERO footwear proudly features a thick layer of slow recovery that customizes to your particular feet for the ultimate footwear experience.

Who can benefit from wearing insoles and why?

Those over 50: As we get older, the muscles and ligaments in the foot become weaker, as do the bones due to calcium reduction. In addition, the fatty padding under the foot thins out, which means less protection and cushioning for the bones, in particular the heel bone. Fallen arches combined with thinning fat tissue are a recipe for foot problems. Heel spurs are the most common foot complaints for those over 50.

People who are on their feet all day: Factory workers, nurses, teachers, people in retail, and many other industries are required to stand on their feet for hours each day. Hard, unforgiving surfaces like concrete and asphalt take their toll after prolonged standing even for young and healthy people! Most common complaints are tired, aching feet and legs as well as low back pain. Women who are required to wear dress shoes with heels (e.g., in retail or hospitality) often suffer from pain under the ball of the foot (metatarsalgia) and/or aching legs.

Runners & athletes: Because athletes put so much strain on their muscles and bones and ground reaction forces are much higher (up to 4 times the body weight), biomechanical injuries are more the rule than the exception. Insoles play a major role in preventing sports injuries such as Achilles Tendonitis, shin splints, and problems in and around the knee joint. Plus, running pain-free enables any athlete to perform better!

High-heel wearers: Most women know that high heels are not good for their feet, however, many women do wear them. Common symptoms occurring from wearing high heels are pain in the back of the legs (and shortening of the calf muscles over the long term), ball of foot pain, and pain under the arch and the heel. Vionic Slimfit insoles are specifically designed to reduce discomfort associated with heeled shoes and sandals.

Pregnant or overweight people: Excess weight worsens the effects of excess pronation and its related pains. Proper alignment and support are crucial for those carrying additional weight, which creates additional forces on the feet, ankles, knees, and back.

What shoe works best for Plantar Fasciitis?

Any of our shoes can potentially help with plantar fasciitis and/or heel pain. Since every style we offer is built with our patented Foot-Care™ technology, you get the same exceptional support and all-day comfort no matter what you choose.

The only real difference between each of our shoes is the style itself. Whether you pick slip-on, sneakers, slippers, or sandals: you get awesome heel and arch support for maximum comfort and longevity whether you're standing, walking on concrete, or adventuring in the great outdoors.

We get a lot of great feedback from customers with a full range of foot conditions, because our footwear is biomechanically correct (i.e. it fits your foot's natural shape), which helps with full body health, starting with your feet.

Will WALKHERO help my condition?

Any person with or without a foot problem can benefit from wearing WalkHero orthotics! It is estimated that over 70% of the population suffer from rolling inwards of the foot and fallen arches (i.e., excess pronation), which is the major contributing factor to foot problems. As we get older this problem often worsens.

Will I feel immediate relief?

In most cases, you will feel immediate relief. In some cases, your feet may need a while to get used to your WALKHEROs. Our orthotics support your arch and hold your feet in a healthier position. If you're not used to it, it may feel awkward at first. We know you must be anxious to get comfortable and pain-free, but it's important not to rush it. Feet are delicate structures. Keep using for 1-2 weeks to ensure maximum comfort.

What is the EVA materials?

EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate)
EVA is a synthetic polymer known for its superior cushioning. It is a lightweight polymer which still maintains excellent shock absorption. Due to its lower density structure, EVA can compress over time, which means it will start providing less support after significant wear. EVA will provide you with the superior lightweight cushioning you find in styles like the Targhee III and the Explore hiker sneaker.

What is the difference between a footbed and an insole/orthotic?

Regular footbeds are designed to provide a cushioning effect and absorb shock. They may feel comfortable at first, but they do not address the biomechanical cause of excess pronation.

Insoles provide some degree of shock absorption, but more importantly, they are functional and are designed to help you reclaim your footprint by supporting natural alignment from the ground up. Some footbeds also feature arch support; however, WALKHERO insoles do a lot more than just support the arches.

For additional information about our insoles, please visit our Insoles Page.

Are orthopedic shoes covered by insurance or Medicare? What about Medicaid?

Medicare covers orthopedic shoes if they're a necessary part of a leg brace. The amount you must pay for health care or prescriptions before Original Medicare, your Medicare Advantage Plan, your Medicare drug plan, or your other insurance begins to pay.
